Drive Duplicate Finder finds exact duplicate files in your Google Drive. In short: everything stays on your own computer. The extension has no servers of its own and sends your data nowhere.

What data is read

Only Google Drive file metadata: name, size, MD5 checksum, MIME type, modification date, parent folder identifiers, the link to the file and the link to its thumbnail. The extension never downloads or reads the contents of your files.

Where the data is stored

• Metadata is stored locally in your browser’s IndexedDB, as a cache for repeat scans.
• Your settings are stored in your browser’s chrome.storage.
• Nothing is transmitted anywhere. There are no servers of our own, no third-party services, no analytics, no telemetry and no advertising. The only network address the extension contacts is the Google Drive API (https://www.googleapis.com/), using your own token.
• Data is not sold and is not shared with third parties.

What the extension changes in your Drive

• Scanning uses read-only access (drive.readonly).
• Files are moved only after your explicit confirmation, and only to the Google Drive trash. Permanent deletion is never performed — files can be restored from the trash.
• Write access (drive) is requested separately, at the moment you first use “Move selected to trash”.

How to revoke access

Open myaccount.google.com/permissions, select Drive Duplicate Finder and choose “Remove access”. After that the extension can no longer reach your Drive.

How to delete local data

• Remove the extension at chrome://extensions — Chrome deletes its IndexedDB and chrome.storage along with it.
• Or clear the extension’s data at chrome://settings/siteData: find the extension identifier and delete it.

Какие данные читаются

Только метаданные файлов Google Drive: имя, размер, MD5-хэш, MIME-тип, дата изменения, идентификаторы родительских папок, ссылка на файл и ссылка на миниатюру. Содержимое файлов расширение не скачивает и не читает.

Где данные хранятся

• Метаданные сохраняются локально в IndexedDB вашего браузера — это кэш для повторных сканирований.
• Настройки расширения хранятся в chrome.storage вашего браузера.
• Данные никуда не передаются. У расширения нет собственных серверов, нет сторонних сервисов, аналитики, телеметрии и рекламы. Единственный сетевой адрес, к которому оно обращается, — Google Drive API (https://www.googleapis.com/) с вашим токеном.
• Данные не продаются и не передаются третьим лицам.

Что расширение меняет в Drive

• Сканирование использует доступ только на чтение (drive.readonly).
• Файлы перемещаются только после вашего явного подтверждения и только в корзину Google Drive. Безвозвратное удаление не выполняется — файлы можно восстановить из корзины.
• Доступ на изменение (drive) запрашивается отдельно, в момент первого действия «Переместить выбранные в корзину».

Как отозвать доступ

Откройте myaccount.google.com/permissions, выберите Drive Duplicate Finder и нажмите «Удалить доступ». После этого расширение не сможет обращаться к вашему Drive.

Как удалить локальные данные

• Удалите расширение на chrome://extensions — вместе с ним Chrome удалит IndexedDB и chrome.storage расширения.
• Либо очистите данные расширения: chrome://settings/siteData, найдите идентификатор расширения и удалите.
