Sliceboard documentation

This page explains how to install and use Sliceboard. If something is unclear, contact support. Back to the Sliceboard overview.

Installation

Sliceboard is installed by a Jira administrator.

  1. The Jira administrator opens the Sliceboard listing on Atlassian Marketplace (listing link coming soon).
  2. The administrator installs the app on the Jira Cloud site.
  3. The app becomes available to project users.

Getting started

  1. Open a Jira project.
  2. Open the Sliceboard page in the project.
  3. Select an existing board.
  4. The choice is remembered for the project.

Filters

Sliceboard can filter the board by:

Filters combine with AND: an issue is shown only if it matches all of the selected filters. You can reset the filters, and the issue counter shows how many issues match.

Presets and sharing

A preset stores a set of filters so that you can apply it again later.

To share the current filter state, copy the link to it and send it to a colleague. The link opens the board with the same filters applied.

Board

Issues are shown as cards. Drag a card and drop it in another column: the issue moves to another status along the Jira workflow.

Swimlanes group the board by assignee or by parent (epic).

Licensing

Sliceboard is free for up to 10 users. For larger sites the price per user / month is:

UsersPrice
1–10Free
11–100$1.00 per user / month
101–250$0.75 per user / month
251+$0.50 per user / month

Payment is made through Atlassian Marketplace. A 30-day trial is available.

When the license is not active

When the license is not active, Sliceboard shows a license screen instead of the board.

Limitations

FAQ

Who can install Sliceboard?

A Jira administrator installs it from Atlassian Marketplace.

Where is my data stored?

In Forge Storage, which is hosted by Atlassian. Sliceboard is built for Runs on Atlassian: it has no external servers and no egress, and data does not leave Atlassian infrastructure.

What does Sliceboard store?

Only filter presets and the selected board for each project. They are stored together with the Atlassian account ID of the user who saved the preset or selected the board. Sliceboard stores no other personal data.

Does Sliceboard use analytics, tracking or cookies?

No. The app uses no analytics, no tracking and no cookies. Data is not sold and not passed to third parties.

Can Sliceboard show issues I cannot see in Jira?

No. Jira data is read and changed through the Jira REST API on behalf of the signed-in user, so only what that user can already access.

Does Sliceboard change my Jira board?

No. Sliceboard is a separate board on the project page; the native Jira board is not changed.

How much does it cost?

Free up to 10 users; $1.00 per user / month for 11–100 users; $0.75 for 101–250; $0.50 for 251+. A 30-day trial is available. See Licensing.

How do I delete my data?

Data is deleted by Atlassian within about 30 days after the app is uninstalled (Forge data retention), or earlier on request sent to asrtehno@gmail.com.
